We've had a FULL schedule since we've been home - lots of quality time with family and friends (and dogs). Jay's parents have been kind enough to let us live with them for the interim - we're so lucky that they live in Superior so we are still close to all of our friends and usual comforts!

December 20, 2023 - We said goodbye to our beloved Kona. She developed cancer in her old age and was declining pretty fast once we got home. We had a few sad days around the house and it felt really empty without Kona here. She almost made it to 15 - just shy by one month. Kona was Jay and my first baby back in 2009 when we moved to Boulder. We'll never forget her love of frisbees, high tens, and boozy milkshakes.

I just saw this. I was looking for the first France post and I saw this awesome round-up of your home-time and your beautiful tribute to Koneeeee. :( Of course I'm weeping because now it just hits too close to home. ANYWAY. I love that you have this blog for forever. I love that you all got to have this experience as a family, and I love that you get to have more fun in France and Italy!
