Taylor's Mistake
On Sunday the 17th we headed to our first hike in the Port Hills, a large area of hiking trails that is just southeast of the city. The hike we chose to do was Scarborough Beach to Taylor's Mistake Beach. The drive was about 30 minutes to the town of Sumner, where we parked to start the tramp (NZ for hike). It was a windy day, but the sun was out and once we climbed and crossed over to the south side of the trail we were sheltered from the wind. The hike was too beautiful to put in words, but here is a photo dump...

One of the best parts was that there was a playground partway up the trail with a seesaw and swing for the kids.
Past the park, you cross a road and out pops mouth dropping views of the coast, cliffs, and wildflowers
Closer to the Taylor's Mistake Beach there was another swing just hanging off the trail that the kids enjoyed spinning each other in. Made for some fun stops for the kids, as they aren't always the keenest on hiking.
We finished the day with lunch at Relish and ice cream cones from Utopia Ice...It is what I would call a PERFECT Day!
So pretty! I love all the fun swings along the way! Katie
